BELGRADE, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Leading Serbian economist Mladjan Dinkic warned on Friday that Slobodan Milosevic, who had earlier conceded defeat at a presidential election, was trying to fly Yugoslavia's state gold reserves out to China.
``A DC10 (JAT's DC-10, YU-AMB I presume ) bound for Bejing and scheduled to take off at 11 p.m. (2100 GMT) is still at the airport. It will soon take off. Tonight we fear there is an attempt to take the gold out,'' Dinkic told Reuters by telephone.
Dinkic, a backer of president-elect Vojislav Kostunica, said earlier the opposition had sealed off the central bank but had not been able to get into the treasury where an estimated $150 million-worth of gold reserves are supposed to be kept.

If I were the pilot (and I assume the pilot must know what is on his plane) I would refuse to take off. If they smugled the gold onto the plane then that is another story. Also, it attrociously unsafe.

the DC-10 flight from belgrade to beijing was scheduled flight.
But after such rooumors with gold onboard, the authoroties decided to search the plane. They didnt find anything and the plane continued on its flight, which was 2 hours delayed.
Its great that Democracy has allready started in Yugoslavia. If it was some Slobodan Milosevics guys, they wouldent even bother to search thru plane.
Go JAT

Other countries denyed overflight for the AN-26's so if it on those I don't think it will get very far. They haven't denyed overflight to JAT so I hope it isn't on the DC-10.
