While crossing the 14th St. bridge around 8:30AM a NW wingleted 757 was landing on rwy. 19, in case anyone wants to get out to Gravelly Point and take pics when it departs.

Crap. I'd love to, but you know, some people have to work. Maybe I can grab a shot of it from the subway...

Did anybody else see the US 757 in the new colors here the other day? Was it just a sub or something? I didn't think US was operating the 757 into DCA.

HP operates many 757s into DCA. The newly painted 757 is from the US-West side.

I've seen it several times in the past month or so. It's really quite impressive.

Today the aircraft continued as follows:
NW 215 DTW- SEA Arriving SEA at 2:15pm today at gate S7
and then
NW 164 SEA-MSP Departing at 3:13pm Arriving MSP at 8:27p
Once it's done as NW 164 it appears that is the end of the journey for that aircraft.

Quoting RJpieces (Reply 8): Is it me or has DCA been getting a lot of 757s as of late?
Not nearly enough, and not as many as the old days.
I remember seeing EA 757s flying in all the time with the big "7-5-7" covering the tail.

Watching planes is the only thing that makes crossing the 14th St. bridge in traffic bearable.

I sit on the eastmost side of the subway every day on my commute just to watch the planes.

Hello all,
I rent an apartment on a higher floor of a building in Crystal City facing the airport - there is nothing separating me from the airport except the railroad tracks and the George Washington Expressway. I know I am one of the luckiest people to have that view. Unfortunately, rents are going up so I may have to move soon!! I would LOVE to buy a place with the same view but prices are still way too high, even in this market.
My recent favorite sighting was the US Airways jet painted in PSA colors. Fantastic. I grew up in southern California so that was a nice bit of nostalgia.

Quoting GOCAPS16 (Reply 6): believe US Airways operates one daily 757 from LAS. Can't remember if it's Vegas or PHX. Believe the PHX flight is an A320.
Yup, I saw the 757 in US new colors, though it had a HP reg. As for the 757, it goes to LAS. i work in the terminal right across from where it parks everyday. I believe it is gate 38 or 36.
I wish UA flew mainline to MYR, that way you wouldn't be stuck in a smelly Saturn for 12 hours.

Quoting D L X (Reply 13): Do you take photos from your apartment?
Unfortunately, the photos I have taken are not very good quality, well, not enough for A.Net, anyway. But, I will redouble my efforts!
Quoting Silentbob (Reply 14): Rent time to spotters, problem solved and you don't have to move.
Ah, problem solved! I can save on rent and make sure that a good photo / spotting location doesn't go to waste. (Well, I know I spend a bit of time with my binoculars on the balcony...)
It is an odd thing to take off or land from DCA and be able to spot my apartment from the window seat. (My building is one of the red-brick half-circle curved buildings on the north side of the runway.)

Wrong routing.
The 757 flys to PHX only. the A319s go to LAS/PHX.
They have two flights in the morning on A319 to PHX and the 757 is the last
flight to PHX at 4:50pm and the next one is the LAS flight leaving around 8pm on an A319 and the only red-eye to DCA is the return from LAS with the A319.
All the PHX flights leave in the morning and mid day to DCA.

Oh, o.k, thanks for the correction. I was old it was LAS that the 757 goes to by another airport worker.
