AF 744 - How Many Have The New Interior?

The header basically sums my question up.
I am looking at some options to travel to the US and I can't decide which plane type to take. And since I am going to fly Air France, I just can't decide which option to take...

Where have all the tri-jets gone...

The fleet is as follow

F-GISA/GISB : Old configuration

F-GITH/GITI/GITJ : new configuration with PTV at every seat in economy and Business class

All other 747-400 : new configuration with PTV on the upper deck only. Main deck economy class have no PTV.

The only destinations which are seeing the B744 in the US this winter are the daily CDG-BOS and CDG-MIA flights as well as one of the CDG-JFK flights but only a couple of days of the week, and all of these flights are operated with the retrofitted B744s, i.e. in new 2-class configuration. The two remaining frames in the old 3-class configuration are supposed to be deployed on CDG-YUL and CDG-DEL before the will be sent for cargo conversion in 2007.

Only 3 of the retrofitted B744s have PTVs throughout economy. All the others have PTVs on the upperdeck economy section only. It's your best guess what aircraft you will end up with, so no PTVs guaranteed unless you can get a hold of a seat on the upperdeck. Those seats are reserved for Flying Blue elite members though.

I am going to stick with the 77W now. That will be a new plane type for me and then I will get the new seats, too, which I had the pleasure of experiencing on their A330-200 earlier. Smile
