Ever since I first went to Jamaica 4 years ago I have seen an old A300B of Air Jamaica parked by the maintenance bay at KIN (Norman Manley International) in the new colour scheme but with the names and Doctor Bird on the tail painted out. I was back there up to this week and the increasingly forlorn looking plane was still there.
Could anybody tell me the ID of the aircraft, its service history with Air Jamaica and what plans if any it has for this classic plane? I recall that JM had several of the type (?4).

I think that particular aircraft was in service for air jamaica since 1983.It was painted in that colour in 1994 as a show of the new air jamaica colours, however, it stopped flying in 1995 and was parked to be remodelled as a cargo aircraft for air J.It seems however that the cost of having it converted was too great so they just left it there. As for the id i am not quite sure, but i am positive it was the first of the A300-b4's to be painted in the new colour.Try online pictures at airliners.net to see if you can find a match.
