Qantas To Add The 747-300s On The PER-MEL Route

Starting next week Qantas will add 747-300s on the PER-MEL route. Does anybody have any more info on this.

This has been discussed before. The B743 will operate PER-SYD/MEL and will also do other international routes as well AKL and HNL

Nalanji Dreaming is engineless and is being used as a spare parts aircraft for the others B743s, so sadly the future doesn't look bright for her. She is in storage at AVV. Hope QF put her paint scheme on another B744 or A380

Are you sure this is not just because QF has swapped the A332 with the B743 pattern between PER/SYD vv and PER/MEL vv due to the Football Grand Finals being held in MEL this weekend? I flew the 743 on PER/MEL yesterday, and I think it is only on for a bit of next week, and it reverts back to the A332.

If anyone wants to see how much traffic is transcontinental in the QF network at present, check out arrivals and departures from PER on QF. Normaly flight schedules between PER and MEL are about 4-5 a day, over the last few days and next few days there are sometimes 16-17 flights a day, most widebody.

No this will figure permanently in QF's schedules and the A332 will still be there until JQ takes them

I think QF added around 4200 seats daily at the beginning of the week because of the footy finals
