KLM operates 9 weekly services into EWR this summer season and yesterday was not different. KL657/658 operated with A332 as every day, and KL659/660 operated with B772 as normal. The B772 service is a seasonal addition, which operates only twice weekly.

KLM has been operating the B772ER on the twice weekly evening service KL659/660 for the entire summer now. The flights operate on Thursdays and Sundays in addition to the daily A332 service until the end of October.

The flight is getting ready to be operated by NW as opposed to KLM starting November 26. They will operate NW 64 with a 330.

I've seen KL 744's at EWR before and didn't know what was up with it. Anyone know?

Last time on my way to Dar es salam via Amsterdam. we got a 744 which is a pleasant surprise. Depends on booking and loading sometimes they will send over the bigger plane.

Does anyone know why the EWR-AMS route will no longer be operated by KLM and instead be operated by Northwest?

They are long-standing partners/codeshare members on this route... I'm not positive, but I think there might be some sort of profit-sharing? Anyone?

They operate their own flight as stated by HB-IWC.

Pretty sure it's an aircraft shortage thing. Northwest operated NW 63/64 for KLM as well last year for a period of time.

I know for a long while during this decade it was a common site to see a KLM 763 at EWR.

NW and KL revenue share over the Atlantic. With it being an outstation for both, it really makes no operational or profit difference (especially since the a/c is identical). NW's a bit closer to CO than is KL, but I don't think that really plays into it.

Does anyone here think that it might make more sense for KL/NW to concentrate all NYC-AMS flights at one airport?

I think the reason for EWR is the good connections. Not sure about JFK but I know that KLM does very well on the routes.

Most of the major European airlines serve both JFK and EWR with both having their advantages in terms of onward connections, travel time to the centre of New York and to other surrounding areas
