Just wondered... at the moment, the BA Shorthaul Gatwick division is predominantly 737-based... are there any plans to update the fleet?

I ask this because I just saw a review that said:

"When I asked the crew about this, they told me that BA is in the process of upgrading all their 737’s to airbus aircraft."

Nothing has been confirmed by BA (I don't think), but it is widely assumed BA will eventually replace its entire 737 fleet with the A320 family.

Next flights: LGW-LBA-LGW, LHR-SIN-SYD, SYD-BKK-LHR, LGW-GRO, GRO-CIA, CIA-MAD, MAD-LGW

I know that many of their old 737-200's are now flying for Comair between Jo-berg, Cape Town, and Durban in South Africa.

Why fly with 2 engines when you can have 3?

I've flown on all types, -300, -400 and -500...

The -300 and -500 were in excellent condition, but the -400 seemed really old and tatty!

All the above originally on five year leases recently extended - but for how long.
