Today at work (DTW) there were two Lufthansa A330-300's. The first one I saw was parked south of the B terminal, and then the regular Lufthansa came in too. I didn't get a chance to catch the a/c numbers, but I know one of them had "KB" on the tail. Does anyone know why two were here, did yesterday's flight just get canceled for 24 hrs? That is what I was thinking.
P.S. Lufthansa had a A340-300 here maybe two weeks ago which I thought was really cool as they haven't sent one of them for a long time (2-3 years I think.)

Yes, because a number of the LH passengers were rebooked on NW52 to FRA, NW54 to AMS and NW50 to CDG. They pushed the distressed aircraft away from the gate late in the evening yesterday

Quoting NWA330 (Reply 2): What was wrong with the a/c?
Don't know, but my roommate was non-reving on the AMS flight and a bunch of rebooked passengers showed up and took the last WBC seats. They off the LH flight. And in talking to some of them, the FA's found out they were rebooks. Most were placed on the NW AMS, and some were put on the BA LHR and NW FRA and CDG flights.

Yup, I got too see it too today! I'm pretty sure it was a/c number D-AIFD. It went right by me as I was working gates 9-21 in the C concourse. I wish I had my camera, b/c I could have gotten a good picture, but o'well, next time. Never saw the NW 757 with winglets today, but did see the 500th Saab (N451XJ) made, but that's about everyday.

I was at DTW on the Big Blue Deck roof Sunday and I got some pictures of the A340, but it looked like an A340-200 rather than a 300.

Is the second one going to stick in the States or are both flying back to FRA tonight with the second one pretty empty?
