I was checking the Ringway Reports website and notice that the An225 was expected in after lunch today. Can anyone tell me if this massive plane has visited MAN before?

Many thanks,

Hey guys and gals (Lew),
I got word from OLY720man, in the Manchester UK News 7 thread, that the AN225 was coming to MAN this afternoon so I made the mad dash down to the airport to go and see this beast of an aircraft.

Anywho, I didn't have my DSLR with me but I got a few pics that I can share now. Of course, expect to see a hundred decent photo's in a few hours/days but for now, three of mine plus a video I made with my little camera!

Umm decisions decisions - do I really want to see it that much that I would drag my lazy a$$ out of bed in the middle of the night to drive over 200 miles.........umm. I'll have a think about it today.

You guys are in for a treat when you get to see that big iron mutha. It came here in the middle nineties along with one of the four engined jobs, they were carrying some equipment for a rebar mill that IPSCO was building up in the northeast corner of the state. Apparently it was from an Austrian mill and it was reconditioned over there.

I was sitting at home when I heard what sounded like the biggest washing machine ever invented loaded with scrap iron going overhead. I knew what it was immediately and as I headed for the door a shadow blocked out the sun and I saw its underbelly going over the house. Later on i went down to the airport and it was parked out by the UPS terminal on the south side. I did not have a camera, dammit.
