I read that BUD (and WAW?) might be developing a terminal, of some description, for LCCs. Is it true? What is happening? I might have completely misinterpreted what was said, and I might have created it from thin air, but I recall reading something about it.

Quoting Cubsrule (Reply 1): WAW already has one. It's the Etiuda terminal.
You call THAT place a terminal, this shed? Great experience when 1 full Wizzair and 2 full Germanwings flights are handing around in a waiting room designed for 180-200 people. Great experience... unfortunately I´m having the "pleasure" to experience this on Friday once again.

Fair use excerpt from Okecie's website:
"Later, the facility was re-organised as a supermarket, furniture shop and storage space.
After comprehensive redevelopment, on 26th March 2004, the Finnish Hall was made operational as the Etiuda Terminal."
I think that says it all.

Pe@rson,
BUD has LCC terminal. It is a recently modernized Terminal 1 of Ferihegy. If you've been there, it is a classic terminal building. I was there this August, but I didn't enter the building because observation deck there is still closed. Interestingly, I visited Ferihegy twice this time and both times I used public transportation to and from airport. While the bus is half empty after leaving Terminal 2, it gets cramped on the next stop (Terminal 1). It sounds a bit crazy, but it also shows the difference in passengers. I really liked that lot that enters the bus on Terminal 1. Most of them are young people using good opportunties to spend few days and discover a new city.
