In the Oct/Nov. issue of Aviation Week it stated that Spirit Airlines of Mirimar, Fla. had the top pilot in the US airline industry. The award given by the DOT/NTSB jointly awarded Capt. Franco the 2000 "Woody" award. What the hell is the "Woody" award and what do you have to do to receive this award? Flown Spirit and they are great, so I am glad for them being recognized. Keep up the good work guys and Congrats Capt. Franco!

I was hoping someone (other than me) would have posted something on this. I'm curious what the "Woody" award is too.

I thought that the words "woody" and "pilots" together in a sentance had something to with the captains reaction to an attractive flight attendants visit to the cockpit.
