Airbus: Still On Track For A350 Launch, More Details Due
Quote: LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Airbus said Monday it is still aiming to give the formal go-ahead for its A350 XWB airplane sometime in October despite problems on its A380 and expectations of an imminent company-wide cost-cutting program.
"It's still scheduled for October," a spokesman said although he added that additional information may emerge once new Airbus Chief Executive Christian Streiff has completed a review of the business. This is due to be finalized this month.

Odd and then I read this:
Gain board approval for the $US10 billion ($13.41 billion) development of the proposed A350XWB family of medium-capacity, 250-350 seat, long-range wide-body airliners, needed to give Airbus a worthy rival to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
