This is amazing news for an airline that is not even flying yet...

SilverJet the all first class airline that will be launching flights between LTN-EWR has purchased the UK holiday charter airline FlyJet... Also two other companies called SkyLease and SkyPeople - Both companies I do not know anything much about...

The press realease also states by purchasing the airline and this instantly gives them an AOC (Air Operators Certificate) and FlyJet also operates a 767-200 and this gives them their launch aircraft and hope to be flying in 2-3 months. They will now be using their own metal at launch and will not be reliant on a third party to fly an aircraft for them.

They agreed about two weeks ago to purchase two 767-200ER's from ThomsonFly, but these aircrafts would not be available to fly until March time. Because ThomsonFly needed time for them to relinquished them from their fleet and would need to be refurbished.

So the airline now has a fleet of three 767's.

Anyone know whats going to happen to FlyJet's current operations and will they continue to operate as a charter airline? I think they have a fleet of several 757's too.

Wow!

Shocking news - didn't see that one coming at all! Looks like their a promising airline though! Maybe they'll use the 757's to fly more UK-EWR routes? Shame to see another charter airline disappear though!
