In the economy class, check out the leg room for that guy on the left. How about the 6 LCD displays on the wall up front? Between the legs cup holder?

Both shots taken on a IST-DXB flight. The load is not that great. Any info how these 332 flights doing on IST-DXB and IST-TLV flights as opposed to AMS, LHR, and other German destinations?

Will the 340s have the same interior? When could we expect the first A340 to have this look?
Thanks

the last few weeks we saw a lot of A332 here in FRA. I went into the a/c one time and tested the legroom and I've to say that it is very spacious.
I heard that the first A340 will be converted in winther 2006/07

Hi Stylo777,
I have heard here that it was supposed to start, end of this summer, like now.
What could be the hold up?
I mean they have some free airplanes. I did do some unofficial scheduling (what do I know, I might be way off!!) on today's departures for example and here it how it looks on the longhaul fleet:

A340s:
-1x JFK
-1x DUS
-1x NRT
-1x SIN
(3 spares)

A330s:
-1x PEK
-1x BKK
-1x LHR
-1x TLV and later to DXB
(1 spare)

A310s:
-1x ALG and later to ALA (Almaty)
-1x ADB and later to BOM
-1x ESB (Ankara) and later to ASR (Kayseri)
-1X FRU (Bishkek)(actually this can be done with the previous plane and ASR switched to a single aisle)
(3-4 spares)

Even if this is close to reality being a weekday, it changes daily like tomorrows ORD flight, and others. But they should start soon don't you think before they get any older.
Any info how long will one 340 take to refurbish? Where will this be done?
Thanks.

I flew the A343 out from IST-PEK and then the A332 on the return and the A340 has noticeably more legroom than the A330. The latter is fairly cramped. Hopefully they don't decrease the A340 pitch to that of the A330.

Two weeks ago I talked to a pilot in FRA on his turn-around. He used to fly the A332 as well as the A340. We checked out the new business class seats and than I asked him if he knows when the A340s become a new interiour and he said something like "scheduled: summer, estimated: winter"  Big grin it is not a official information but a internal one  Wink

I think it is common with older planes. In my opinion the older B737-400s are more spacious with legroom as the newer B737-800s, too.

So the 332s have less leg room. I wonder if they had kept the same pitch as the 340s, maybe they could have reached JFK without penalty.
