Yeah the plane is back in service - a few months ago was returned to service after being repaired in Hkg i think, and was flown to Sydney with some Qantas safety personnel guy on board to show it was safe to fly again.

I'm talking about the OTHER gear collapse in Rome.

VH-EBW was indeed fixed in Rome and returned to service better than new. Several new performance enhancing modifications were made.
VH-OJH was repaired in Bangkok after a runway overrun and is also back in service, good as gold.
