Blue1 will lease two more MD-90s and open five new routes from HEL next year.
They will also change their Business Class to Economy Flex.

At the moment they have seven AVRO RJ85, two AVRO RJ100 and three MD-90 planes.
Last year they carried 1,5 milj passengers, their market share in Finland was 16 per cent.

Where do these two MD-90's come from? Also ex-SAS birds?

I would think so. And I am very happy for Blue1, a great LCC.

AFAIK there were 8 SK MD-90's:

3 are already with KF
2 (?) are flying with Nordic Leisure (are they only temporarily leased or have they been sold)
3 are stored (?)

I have to agree with the sentiment that KF is quite a good airline - I flew STN-HEL with them last June in order to get on the MD-90 and was pleasantly surprised.

It's a good airline - when in the air. It has had lot of delays, I think because of growing so quickly. And that has caused problems to my customers, last summer a friend of mine spent 6h long hours at CDG because of Blue1.

I wish them all the best, they are needed to keep AY busy... and the to keep prices friendly.

So the MD-90's leased by Nordic Leisure seem to be the only European versions available for Blue1 on the market in winter?

Probably the Nordic machines. They have been on OSL for a while, and are getting some maintenance.
