British Airways has announced that it will upgrade it's London Heathrow - Dubai services on the 29th October.

BA will upgrade BA106/7 from a daily 772 to a 744 and will introduce a new 3x weekly flight operated by a 767-300ER.

BA106/7 Daily 744
BA108/9 Daily 772
BA104/5 Thrice Weekly 763

Good news for BA and DXB, will be great to see all of BA's 3 long haul aircraft operate to DXB. Only DXB, LHR and JFK see all three long haul BA aircraft  Smile

Good news for BA and DXB. This route must be doing well for BA if they are placing a 747 on it. Despite EKs saturation of the UK market traffic to DXB must be good for BA to add this size aircraft. I did at one stage think that as VS had begun flying that BA may cut back.

Toronto gets all three as well, now that BA have added the late night westbound 767 that comes back the next morning as a (yes!) daytripper. The two earlier flights are either 2x 777 or 1x 747 and 1x 777.

fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

I was waiting for this reply from someone  Wink

Actualy YYZ will not see all three types until 2007 (Late Jan, Early Feb IIRC), currently YYZ is a mix of 777's and 767's  Smile

If I am not mistaken, this is not the first time that BA has put on an extra thrice weekly B763 service from LHR to DXB, in addition to upgrading one of the other regular DXB flights to B744 from B772 for the winter timetable.

I'm happy that this winter they're doing this again, even though Virgin has entered the market with a daily A346, plus the many EK flights.

You are indeed correct. IIRC BA had this set up a couple of years ago. BA usually switch the BA106/107 to a 744 for the winter season anyway.
