after having seen most of the major airlines photos here ive come to the conclusion that the best shots are taken at Zurich and Hong Kong with Montreal following close, and the best airline photos are of Swissair

I think you are right. I especially appreciate Hong Kong of the past (around 1963).

Ever been to Heathrow? If you have, ever been on the observation deck on T2? If you ask me, Heathrow wins for planespotting hands down. The deck affords a clear view of the whole airport and the runways. And Heathrow is busy at ALL times and has THE best selection of aircraft anywhere. There's always a stream of planes waiting to take-off and land. It's absolutely breathtaking and aweinspiring. Once you've been there, no other airport will ever compare.

Nickolai: Bonjour! You're very lucky! How did they let you inside the control tower, did you guys ask them?

Anyway this year, you guys in YUL will have more airlines to take pics of, Egyptair, LACSA, CUBANA...

Hi Louis,

im not talking about the number of airlines visiting a city nor the spotting areas of an airport,my post is about the best shots at airliners.net, Zurich, Hong Kong and Montreal are the winners, and the best airline pictures are of Swissair. The pictures from London are really bad as you can see for yourself at this site, the only good shots from there are the airliners coming in to land minus the airport landscape

p.s and yes ive been to heathrow twice, good airport, great spotting, great variety of airlines but sadly awful pictures from there have been posted here.

Yeah right Zurich and Kai Tak photos seem to be the majority in best shots selection. Heh, no wonder Kai Tak - with its unique approach...

Hi all

Well after reading your post and the comment:

'but sadly awful pictures from there have been posted here'.

Maybe it's your ones that are awful.

Hi

No, not taking it personally its just it sounded like he ment the shots were bad and not the location.

I have to agree that Kai Tak was the best for me on all my travels.

Marco: One of our friend just asked if we could visit the tower. And it camed out that we spend 2 hours there. The controllers were really friendly! It's a one in a lifetime experiment and i'm glad it was this great! I've putted my photo from the tower to developping yesterday, can't wait to get them back!!!

Granite: I was wondering, have you ever visited Montreal?

Nobody's mentioned LAX. Honestly, some of the best pics I've seen on this site have been taken at LAX. Behold!
