I was out on Hog Island Road listening to approach when a JetBlue A320 came on asking for clearance to land. Planes were coming in to land on 9R and the B6 Airbus requested 27R. I'm not sure if it was an emergency landing or what exactly but the A320 is still parked at the old International Terminal.

JetBlue has been doing a lot of charters lately. That's probably it.
Most people on a.net hate JetBlue. Get used to it.

No sir. There is no T.O. in Cowboys. He is just a great player on a great team.

If it were a charter, why would they request to land on a 270-heading runway, while other traffic is arriving on a 090-heading runway??

...Uh oh...I wet myself again.
And yet another jetBlue basher reveals his immaturity on this forum. All I asked was if anyone had updated info on what this aircraft is doing at PHL. That is a realistic question, considering jetBlue does not serve PHL and the fact that it landed on opposite runway than the one in use which eliminates the possibility of it being a charter.
This is an open forum about the airline industry and aviation...if you can't grow up and post useful/knowledgable info, please go elsewhere. Thank you

It was Kent State's charter for the Temple game. JetBlue college charters have been coming in just about every weekend now. On Sept 23th, 610JB took Temple to BTL to play Western Michigan. Then on Sept 29rd, 533JB took the team to play Vanderbilt.

Oh good ole Philly fans...always cheering when an opponent is carried off in a stretcher.
Besides, how many Super Bowls have Philly won?
Anyways, back to the topic...were they actually granted 27?

Sorry this is a bit off topic, but, USAir330, can you tell me how you listen to ATC? I've been spotting PHL for a while now but haven't actually listened to ATC. Some info would be great, thanks
(If you're wondering why my name says Australia - i'm living here until December, then moving back to Philly)
Thanks

I didn't think B6 would be in a rush to start up PHL service myself. I'd like to see them in PHL doing scheduled service, but with the traffic and the other problems associated with PHL right now, it just isn't going to happen unfortunately. I am not saying it will never happen, but not in the near term. I do see demand for B6 to be in PHL; it's a whopper O&D pool.
They [PHL] need a different/newer facility or a second airport with commercial service...

You were saying? 38 - 24 (Eagles) and T.O. walked off the field in Philadelphia without a scratch . Really, both Dallas and Philadelphia are "Class" teams.

A prime example of a sloppy game. That first 5 minutes had my head spinning.

I listen to ATC with a Maycom AR-108 Scanner.
Also thanks for the info on what the plane was doing in PHL!

Pay no attention to B777-700 (the member formerly known as NonRevKing).
He's bitter toward JetBlue and his rants on this forum are basically like graffiti - nobody likes it, it rarely makes sense, and you learn to ignore it. If there is any validity to his arguments, it is usually lost in the grudge.

Actually, I thought it was pretty funny...and that's all I care about.
Again, I have nothing against Jetblue. I do have something against the Kool aid drinkers.
