I believe RJ has retired all L1011s. Most of these routes have been replaced by A310s. Royal Jordanian is a code share partner with TWA. RJ still flies transatlantically with A310s from JFK to AMS and than on to Amman. The airline is fine and will continue to operate for many years to come. As for a new exciting aircraft order? Doubt it.

Alia-Royal Jordanian had a fleet of three or four Boeing 747-200b's during the late 70's and 80's and also 707's at about that time too. I don't really know when they retired or sold these aircraft, but as a guess I'd say the 707's went when the tristar arrived and the 747 went when the A310 arrived. Not to say the A310 replaced the 747 in operation, just within the fleet.
I have no knowledge of an A340 order for Royal Jordanian but I guess they will need new aircraft sooner or later, and the A340 would not be a bad choice for them.

They do fly to Israel, TLV-AMM is a VERY short flight, but many Israelis are flying RJ to the far east via AMM since it is very cheap,
RJ flies the DHC-8 & A320 between TLV & AMM, the airline also operates to Haifa (HFA) in Israel.
