Impressive.

Makes me wonder why certain airlines are holding back on public announcements, like they have secret plans or something.

If you sign an order for 30-50 787s, you may not be getting your financing all from one place. You may have to go to 2,3, or 5 different backers. So an airline might be securing all the financing before making an official announcement.

Some airlines seem to announce an order, then take weeks (months/years) to book it officially. Others like to announce an order day and date with signing the final contracts.

10 for an unidentified customer!!!

So either SQ was never in there as an unidentified customer or someone just ordered 30 787s right?

Right:

Either someone ordered 30 (or more than one airline did) and SQ was moved from UFO to their row...

Or SQ was not booked until yesterday in any manner, and someone (or more than one airline) just added 10 more 787s to the UFO row for later identification.

"Changes this week include the addition of 20 787s for Singapore Airlines, the addition of 10 787s for an unidentified customer and the identification of Emirates as the customer for 10 747-8F orders which were posted to the web on 10/3/06 for an unidentified customer. These changes reduce the unidentified 747s total from 14 to 4, increase the unidentified 787s total from 29 to 39, increase the net 787s total from 111 to 141 and gross 787s total from 114 to 144, and increase the net orders total from 723 to 753 and the gross orders total from 730 to 760."

Right that's what's getting me...
They say that they 'identified' Emirates as a customer from the UFO list; but they say SQ's order is an 'addition'

maybe I'm just bored but it got my brain going... I guess from the wording that SQ was never on the unidentified list then.
