I need to fill up on my propliner experiance. It was too long since last!
Is it too late in the year now or do they fly still?

When? Where?

The Super Connie made 2 or 3 visits to GVA this summer. I'd love to see the Red Bull DC-6B but haven't made the trip to Salzburg yet (I live near GVA). That must be the most perfectly preserved propliner of all. Looks better than new in photos. It has the advantage of having a full original passenger interior while the Swiss Super Connie was originally a US Navy troop transport so has a rather basic interior with some non-original seats installed.

I was lucky enough to fly on a few Super Connies and DC-6Bs when they were in their latter few years of airline service.

the Swiss Connie has a fairly extensive flying schedule each summer, even roundtrip flights start already around € 150 plus membership fee. I flew on them last year and it was really worth it.
I would really like to fly on the Flying Bulls DC-6 but that doesn't seem possible. Does anyone know how to get on one? Being member or donate somewhere? Volunteering on something?

nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Jan closer to home our Aviodrome Connie will take to the sky again early next year as well as the sole surviving DC2.
Not much chance to get onboard though unless you have a damn good story to tell Big grin
