The Miramar Air Show is this weekend. I have gone for the past few years and personal think it's one of the best around. Looks like it might be cloudy and rainy on Saturday so that put a damper on things but I am going anyway. Anyone else going?

I don't even know why they moved the airshow from Aug to Oct. The wx is a lot worse. The wx Friday and Sat do not look good. Low clouds and possible rain. I have gone to Miramar almost every yr for the last 20yrs. Though I do think the Navy put on a much better show when they were at the base. They used to have a lot more on display and had a lot more flying.

I'm planning on going tomorrow. This is the second year in a row that the first day of crap weather for the season came during the airshow. Last year low clouds and fog moved in early ruining the night show on Saturday, and Sunday was cloudy.

Oh well, at least I got a good three hours of Blue Angels yesterday. Pics taken from my front yard...

They started around 12:15 with 4 of them flying around, checking out the area. Then they worked on formation stuff. After about an hour of that the 4 landed and the two solos went up for about an hour doing their thing. Then at 3:30, they all went up and did a full routine.

I'm flying to LAX Saturday at noon, and might make it in time to Miramar to see the Blue Angels perform. If not, no biggie, I used to see them everyday when I was in Pensacola.  Smile
