Two new FR routes from DUB - to NYO (a base) and WAW (a brand-new destination for FR, its 9th in Poland). A.nutters predicted these routes. I'm particularly pleased with WAW, and await further development from there.

The Dublin - Stockholm route is going to Västerås VST, not to Skavsta. Ryanair also announced today that they will start VST - STN.

My apologies re. DUB-NYO-DUB.

STN-VST-STN (VST not being a base) used to operate twice-daily, so it will be a recommenced route.

I also see FR are now charging for priority boarding. Was this touted before. In doing this they now say they will not allow those with children to board first.

Will this also affect those that require special assistance?

I'm sorry, but that is wholly irrelevant in this thread. Please start a different one.

I wonder why they opted for VST, instead of NYO. Is there any form of disagreement between the operator of NYO and Ryanair, that they don't seem to develop NYO any further? Or are there noise limitations (like with CIA) that prevents them from expanding?

I first understood that Ryanair 'boycotted' Sweden because of the EUR 10 environmental tax, but as they recently announced quite some new routes to MMX and GSE, that doesn't seem to bother them too much. Does anyone have any information on NYO?

And why did they decide to switch NYO from LTN to SNT. I found it bizarre in the first place that the moved it from STN to LTN and now they switch it back again. Why?

For Dublin, two nice new routes. I wonder what else Ryanair will do with WAW. Do they just accept the higher fares @WAW in order to compete with EI and DY, or might they have got an interesting deal for Etudia 1?

I bet DUB-WAW is just a starter route into Warsaw with more to come. Rough times for LOT are ahead.

The aircraft above is dedicated to LOT, a variation of the old "Auf Wiedersehen Lufthansa, Arrivederci Alitalia, etc." scheme.

FR is predicted to have 4 bases in Poland. I suspect WAW will be one of those (along with KRK, WRO...)

I too am surprised about the choice of Vasteras over NYO for the DUB service - good news for Vasteras however. Is the route daily?

Vasteras was moved to LTN when FR opened their base there. As you probably know Vasteras was going to dropped completely and the LTN aircraft was rescheduled to do Morroco flights instead. Now there is no space in the LTN schedule to restore Vasteras so it has to be operated out of STN

Could end up being like MAD

I think it depends on the new terminal 2 @WAW? When you look at for example the MAD situation, you see that Ryanair jumped into the gap that arrived due to the large capacity increase by constructing the new terminal.

On this page http://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/katalog/aktualnosci/en/aktualnosci.php it is mentioned that T2 will be fully operational in november 2007. I suppose the network carriers will all move to the state-of-the art T2, generating capacity at T1. Maybe Ryanair will be able to negotiate a MAD-like deal to fill in the capacity?

There was no €10 environmental tax but eventually was going to be but the Swedes elected a new government in Septemper so now there is not going to be any €10 tax.
