OS X-mas Run For ATH: Whats Up?

OS runs 5 flights on the 23rd, 3 on the 26th and 5 again on 27th Dec.
Beside the regular flight, all others have flight numbers above 1000 and are fully booked. So I guess they are charters. Anyone knows what happens in ATH at this time of the year, that they send so many planes down there?

I think these are charters fpr Greece passengers! There are always many many charters during christmas from Athens to Vienna.

I remember Astreus doing some last year.

Yeah, probably too many Greeks going to Austria for Christmas holidays. I doubt its the other way around cause there is nothing that interesting happening here on these dates.

Indeed, Austria is a very popular Xmas destination for the Greeks.
For many years OS runs numerous charters around these dates. Their 330s and 340s were their usual machines for those flights. Now, since their 340s are going to LX...i guess that 330s and 767s will be deployed for this year's charters.

Definitely Greeks travelling to VIE.

Also, there are other charters around Xmas time for Greeks travelling to Budapest and Istanbul in particular and to a lesser extent Prague, Warsaw and the Santa Claus flights to Rovaniemi.

BUD yes..on MA charters
PRG yes,even more than BUD..on OK charters
WAW nop.
IST not in Xmas that much. it gets much more charter traffic on Easter holidays.
Rovaniemi yes. on HHI or A3 charters.
and PAR...usually on A3 charters and not only.

MNG to Istanbul
Egyptai to Cairo
Sky Europe to Prague
Travel Service to Prague
Viking to Rovaniemi
Viking to Vienna
Niki to Vienna
Olympic to Vienna
Viking to Salzburg
Viking to Rome
Viking to CDG
LOT to Warsaw

Of course there were more charters later for New Year and Skiing.

Macc seesm to make sense. Would not too many tourists heading to ATH over Xmas and if need to, can book on the regular OS daily scheduled.

BTW, OS operating similar charters for SKG-VIE.
