Can't find anything on American news sites, but on this Norwegian site they report that a small plane with 4 persons on board exploded after takeoff. The incident was in East France, on the airport Besancon.

According to News 24
The aircraft carried 2 crew and 2 surgeons on a organ transplant mission

The aircraft was enroute to Amiens with the surgeons who were to collect
a liver for a transplant operation

The pilots worked for Flowair based in Lyon

The aircraft crashed into a marshy area off the runway at Besancon

Tragic!

Tony

The plane was a Beech 90, like for many of their flights, they (Flowair) were bringing 2 surgeons to Amiens from Besançon for a transplant operation...
The plane crashed 300 meters after the runway in a forest !!! Sad

I love that - it says small plane crash and the picture is of what looks to be the BIG MASSIVE ENGINE AND WING from an A340!!!!

Unbelievable!

I suppose that picture is from that AF crash in Canada.

Since when do A340s have big massive engines? I thought people called them "hair dryers"  Silly

A. Maybe it hasn't made it here yet
B. Its pretty small, might not make it outside of Europe. How often do crashes in America that don't involve celebs like the Yankees pitcher make it to Europe? If a Beech Baron or something with 4 people on board went down in "middle America" and not in the middle of a major metropolis, but some place like a farmer's field in Wyoming, would that really make the news in Norway, France or Belgium?
