Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a summary of what routes BA (mainline) have dropped/added for the upcoming timetable starting at the end of this month? I looked on their website but couldn't find a complete list, only one item about MIA reductions. If anyone could help me with equipment changes too that would be brilliant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Henry

Hi Guys, Im new on this!

From what I know with BA, their LHR - NBO equipment as of winter will still remain as a Non Stop service with 777 equipment.

Before however they were using 747 equipment although I dont really know if they have any plans in changing any equipment as of now.

Many thanks

KQ772

BA064 will be by the 744 (rather than the 772) with BA089 by the 772 (rather than the 763).

Hi Pe@rson thanks for for letting me know!

The BA 064 (currently a 772) will be replaced by a 744 and the BA 089 currently served by the 763 should upgrade to the 772?

Looks like they are bringing the 744 back to the same route as it was just before the 772 was introduced to that route, as I remember flying on the 744 to NBO last year and then again on BA 064 with the 772 this year in summer.

As for the BA 089 that is currently flown with a 763 will now have extra capacity with the new 772 equipment.

Could the change be due to the chrismas holiday season coming up?

or may be just a higher demand for flights to that destination.

Not sure about the reason, but it's like CAI: BA flies the 772 daily during the off-season, then the 744 during the peak season.

Incidentally, I enjoyed my KQ 310 flight a few years ago.

Quoting BAStew (Reply 6):
8th daily JFK flight (747)

It operates 6 on Mondays, 8 Tuesdays-Fridays, 7 on Saturdays and 6 on Sundays.

The 744 operates all the flights bar #173, dep. LHR 1855, arr. JFK 2135, which instead is operated by the 772 Monday-Friday, with no weekend flights.

LHR-EWR is 3x Monday-Friday, 2x Saturday and 3x Sunday using 763s and 772s (#189 and #187 on Sundays).

There are, according to Amadeus, some subtle frequencies changes Dec/Jan/etc.

Don't forget all the AA (JFK from LHR, AI (JFK from LHR, KU (JFK from LHR), VS (JFK and EWR from LHR), CO (EWR from LGW), DL (JFK from LGW) etc. Considerable numbers, and primarily using 744s and 772s.

Can't believe the demand is there for a B744 and B777 as well the KQ777. I flew the route in April on the B767 and the plane was half empty, although Business was full, so maybe they are upgrading for the additional C and F seats.

Quoting Sv2008 (Reply 14):

Certainly an amazing route when you consider all the seats available. From personal experience, my old company had an agreement with BA (and AA as back-up) and we'd have an average of 15 people on BA flights everyday Sunday evening to Friday evening. (all C class). It is a money maker!

Aircraft I've flown: A300/A310/A320/A321/A330/A340/B727/B732/B733/B734/B735/B738/B741/B742/B744/DC10/MD80/IL62/Bae146/AR

There is also the configuration issue. Although there are 8 x flights daily (all except one on the 747) BA only use the High Club World cabin config on the route. So the whole jumbo only has 291 seats in total. 14 in FIRST, 70 flat beds in CW, 30 in Traveller Plus, and 177 in Traveller.

Only a few more than some cheeky airlines squeeze on their 767's!  Smile

I guess this is slightly off topic, but I find it interesting that BA is starting LHR-YYC and AC is starting LHR-YEG (Dont know if this is happening THIS winter, but is said to be soon)

I guess the province of Alberta is starting to attract more focus!
Any insight?
