Hello Everyone.
Some good news from Kenya Airways but bad news for Air Tanzania, Air Austral and some other small airlines in the Indian ocean Islands.

KQ are starting flights from their NBO Hub to DZA and HAH. Thrice weekly with B737.
First of all -- Air Tanzania which is allready doing good on the DAR - HAH route will be messed up.

Secondly, This will effect Air Austral in their CDG- DZA market ... I heard they operate B777 on the route and have very high yields. KQ will route this CDG-DZA/HAH market via NBO with cheaper fares...

Well this is a very wise decision by KQ. I can guarantee you this that they will really do good on NBO-HAH/DZA route since by then they will also have start flights to CDG.

Any comments are welcome...

Wow thats so good to hear.

Im very happy for KQ in that prospect.

Well there is probably a big demand for flights to those destinations from Kenya or from countries that make connecting flight in Nairobi.

They are also a large growing airline within the East Africa and thats why they say " Pride of Africa"

I don't think KQ can connect CDG-NBO-DZA southbound. The CDG-NBO flight is not set up to link with KQ flights on the NBO side but with AF flights on the CDG side.

Are yields really that strong from CDG?

By the looks of it, the relationship that KL and KQ had is expanding to the AF fold of AFKL at high speed. First CDG, then these French influence points. I wouldn't be surprised if AFKL have even greater hopes for their partner.

I want the European Union flag on airliners.net!
