Hope the guy flying that was alright, as well as all the people on the ground! It looked like it could have been engine failure, the prop blade seemed to be turning very slowly as he came down.

Just for the sake of asking...does anyone know what the outcome was for the pilot and any passengers? yes, this is at least a few years old now.

If it's what I think this was -- a July 31, 2003 forced landing in Anchorage, Alaska then all onboard (1 pilot and 3 paxs) received minor injuries but otherwise fine.

A brief paragraph on the accident:

The NTSB probable cause:

http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=20030805X01271&key=1

Basically, fuel management led to fuel starvation, causing the engine to stop producing power, and down they went.

A two minute clip of this is also on YouTube:

I love the commentator..."No way did that just happen, folks."

 laughing

Seriously though, glad that the occupants got out alive and no-one on the ground was hurt or killed.

Looks like it landed in the soccer field behind the outfield fence.

Just being technical

Yeah, I remember when that happened. It was about three years ago....Made Jack Michaels "Sports Machine"

He didn't have a lot of options where he put it down. And a lot of time, he was already down low to get into MRI.

And yes, dummy didn't switch the tanks because he claimed he was only instructed to use the one side and hold the other in reserve. Frankly if the engine stopped running I think I would count that as an emergency.

But Like I said he would have already been pretty low at that point when he lost the motor so he didn't have a lot of time to diagnose.

OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.
