Just heard rumors (Friday night US Time) of a power outage at Oceanic control in Gander holding up all East-bound traffic across the Atlantic. Does anyone know anything about this or know if this is even true?

I saw something about this through various sources at work. Basically there was some sort of outage at Gander Center with communications frequencies and radar outages or something like that, which somehow rendered all but one of the North Atlantic tracks useless. JFK, which was already dealing with nightmares due to winds, was severely affected by the ensuing groundstop, which also had a big impact on Jetblue. All european flights were rerouted to either Track U or a random route from north america, which created some real tactical headaches at a number of atc facilities, including New York Center.
