I flew a TWA L1011 from LAX to JFK and then JFK to Brussels and then back again. It was in 1989 and my first time flying overseas. I don't remember much accept the LAX JFK route was empty both ways with lots of pilots and FA's sprawled out across seats in the center isle. The flight from Brussels to JFK landed in a heavy snowstorm, I think we were the last plane to land before JFK was closed for the day. I subsequently missed my LAX L1011 connection and spent Thanksgiving at the Holiday Inn in Jamaica Queens.
At this point in my life I was not that into planes, but these flights probably started my love for the planes and the L1011.

I flew a TWA L1011 in Royal Ambassador (First Class) from Zurich to JFK in August of 1989, nonstop. It was TWA flight 891, which originated in Budapest
and had connections to Vienna and Stuttgart from Zurich.
I don't remember much about the flight, other than the fact that First Class
was empty and coach was full.

When I was going to school in France in 1986, I had a friend come visit me there and then on to Switzerland. Her flight was from LAX to Dulles to Paris to Geneva then that flight continued on to Istanbul..All on TWA, all on the same L1011...Anybody know when they gave up Istanbul?
