The U.A.E is, I believe, on the whole about the second most demanded destination from Saudi Arabia (I think Egypt is first). But how much O&D traffic goes to-and-from AUH, especially to/from JED? Based on the number of flights and the aircraft used (large, e.g. 741s/772s/773s, particularly from JED), DXB is clearly the number-one destination.

Pearson, you are right about DXB being the largest local market. However, the Saudis will not relax their deal with UAE carriers as they see them bleeding traffic to Asia. EY wants more rights but is restricted on frequency. EK is pretty ok with what they have, but QR is desperate for more. Air Arabia is left alone, though it is 'advised' as to what time to operate.
My last view of the local AUH market suggested that it was about a quarter the size of DXB.
