Will also complement their LGW-Adriatic Coast routes

Slightly off topic, but what Adriatic Coast destinations will OU serve from LHR next summer?

It appears RJK on a Wednesday and SPU on a Saturday.

LGW-DBV looks like 5 weekly and LGW-SPU 4 weekly. LGW-ZAG flights look like a feed onto ZAG-ZAD as it's only those two flight that make a connection in anything under 10 hours for ZAD.

Nothing LGW-PUY yet, could it be pressure from FR's STN-PUY already?

Does anybody know if there are any plans to build new terminals in Croatian airports ? I've been there (DBV and ZAG) in september and the current terminals are really awful (ZAG especially. For DBV, arrivals area is OK but domestic departures ...)

Looks like DBV has a new terminal being built next door, plus ZAD is a brand new airport

I would be surprised if LGW-PUY didnt come back, I know quite a few English tour operators take seats on it. Is MAN-PUY restarting next summer?

We have been waiting on this for ages!!!!!!!

There is a master plan for a new terminal to be built in Zagreb. The last I read was that construction is due to start in 2008 planed completion 2011.

This is from Wikipedia...

'In 2004, the airport installed a CAT-IIIb ILS.

A new terminal is planned for 2011. The initial plan, made by NACO in 1997, was for 47,000 m² of space, capacity for 11 jetways, and capability of handling 3 million passengers annually, but the airport authority decided to scrap this plan in favor of a larger terminal.

A new Master Plan has been developed by Scott Associates in 2006 and the new terminal is now expected to have 11 jetways and a capacity of 3.3 million passengers annually. It will be approximately 65,600 m² in area, nearly five times the size of the current terminal.

The terminal has been designed by Ted Nasmith, who also worked on special effects in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The design will include a retail component with stores, banks, cafes and restaurants. Directly in front of the new terminal will be a new luxury hotel with direct underground links to the terminal.

Construction will total 212 million Euros, and is expected to begin in 2008. Following completion in 2011, the old terminal will be used for low-cost operators.

Air Force operations will move to the south end of the airport due to the construction.

Accompanying the terminal will be a second, parallel runway. The completion date is unknown at this stage, but it will most likely be by 2020.

By 2011, there will also be a new rail line alongside the new road, which will cross the Domovinski Bridge to be completed in 2007. These elements will create an entirely new east entrance into the city.'

It looks like they hope to have it completed by the time Croatia Hungary may host the Euro 2012, (this will be announced in December)  crossfingers apparently they are the favourites since Italy’s match fixing scandal.

...... As for Dubrovnik, if you do a photo search on google you may come across plans for a proposed new terminal. I found it about a year ago, looked very futuristic and cool. The building was based a wing but could be a bit small seeing that more and more people are flying there each year.

Goldorak,
Croatia is experiencing impressive passenger traffic growth but it is being spread around a few airports in Croatia. Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik are all seeing over 1000 000 pax each every year with Pula also getting a large number of people. Therefore, Zagreb airport misses out on being a hub because people choose to fly directly to the coast. This is one of the reasons why we have not seen a new Zagreb terminal earlier.
Apart from the Euro 2012, which we introduce a small period of large pax growth and aircraft movement at Zagreb, the airport really needs some initiative from other local carriers.
I would love to see a Croatian airline (Croatia Airline would be great but unlikely) have a go at a few wide bodies with flights to Australia the US and Canada. With Austrian pulling out of Australia, it gives Zagreb a golden opportunity to have a go at becoming a hub in the region. Especially since large amount of Austrian passengers from Sydney were Croatians or travelled on to other parts of the region.

I hope we will see more new OU flights open soon.
