I know for sure, Tiger Airways and Fly Asian Xpress don't offer allocated seating on their flights, but how about Bangkok Airways and Air Asia? I'll be flying on Bangkok Airways later this year and I've also been looking on some flights on Air Asia.

Hmm... Sorry, my mistake. They just have so good offers it feels like one.  Smile

So I believe that at least they have allocated seating on their flights?

Bangkok Airways (PG) functions like any other scheduled regional carrier. Allocated seats, great service, meals served etc... Just look out for their colourful A320s! One of the best liveries out there.

They assign seats on check-in.

PG is an outstanding airline. This summer, I flew them BKK-RGN-BKK & BKK-REP-BKK-HKT. The best Y product that I have ever experienced.

That's good to hear! I was expecting much less, but it's always good news when it comes this way.  Smile Actually one of the flights I'll have is with an A320.

Air Asia, along with Tiger Air do not offer preassigned seats.
JetStar Asia is the only one of the 3 major South Asia lowcost airlines that offer preassigned seats at check-in.

Thanks for the info. JetStar here in Australia doesn't seem to have seat allocation either, unlike JetStar Asia.

Going a bit west, in India SpiceJet offers assigned seating. And a constant free flow of bottled water, bisquits and sweets in the cabin, throughout the flight. But you can't buy anything (!), not even a sandwich or so - something Air Asia for instance makes a lot of revenue on.

Exactly!

We had a hot breakfast in Y on a 35-minute flight BKK-PNH and free coffee and juice at the gate before departure. Definitely not budget!  Smile
