Does BA continue to serve Helsinki? My friend is trying to book a NYC-HEL roundtrip with them and all that comes up for the LHR-HEL-LHR legs is BA Codeshare operated by AY. If they stopped, when did they do so?
Thanks!
The sky is the limit as long as you can stay there

There are two BA LHR-HEL flights a day, one late morning and one early evening departure. BA794 departs LHR at 1220 hours and arrives HEL at 1715 hours local time. BA798 departs LHR 1825 hours and arrives HEL 2310 local. It may be that these did not show up because they are not convenient connections for your friend's NYC-LHR flight.
By the way the timing of the lunchtime flight changed this weekend. It was previously scheduled to depart an hour earlier at 1120 hours.

It is also supposed to be a 757 most of the times.

Why doesn't your friend fly AY nonstop JFK-HEL....?? MD-11s won't be flying around forever, enjoy 'em while you can!

Quoting VV701 (Reply 6): According to the BA electronic timetable the morning flight was a 752 in the summer schedules but in the winter schedules both flights are 320s.
I recently booked flights between LHR and HEL for 2007.
Lunchtime departure from LHR in March is operated by an A320, as is the early morning departure from HEL in April.
I'm guessing my outbound flight is on the winter timetable and my inbound flight is the summer timetable.
Next flights: LGW-LBA-LGW, LHR-SIN-SYD, SYD-BKK-LHR, LGW-GRO, GRO-CIA, CIA-MAD, MAD-LGW

my patner is in HEL at the moment as flight crew, he's on the A320 family, so yes BA still fly to HEL and there is at least one airbus flight per day!
