Hi
I write to you this evening in distress; is our great hobby under threat? I feel the two major challenges facing aviation are;
* Climate Changes and Global Warming - This will no doubt bring taxes and restrictions on aviation, like the ones already proposed, how could airlines cope?
* Future Fuel - How are we going to fuel our aircraft when oil production begins to decrease? Many scientists predict that if a breakthrough fuel existed it could have been found, but what about our options for fuel now?

I have yet to see a single objectively written paper on the subject. Every single report I've ever read on Global Warming (it's happening/it's NOT happening) was written by someone with a bigger agenda to push. So as far as I am concerned, the issue is moot.
Second, as for the fees?
The airlines will do what they have always done: pass them on to the passengers. This may lead to a few weak airlines eventually going under, but it will not dramatically alter the fundamentals.

Human nature...being what it is....means no one will make any SERIOUS attempts at addressing this until it becomes an emergency.
