THIS MAKES SOOOOO HAPPY! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR YEARS, MY TWO FAVORITE AIRLINES COMING TOGHETHER NWA AND SU!!!! IF DTW AND MSP ARE 2 NEW CITIES THAT THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION PERMITS TO BE CONNECTED TO RUSSIA, WE MAY SEE ENHANCED SERVICE FROM SU TO THESE CITIES. IF THE CODESHARE GOES WELL, MAYBE SU WILL ENTER DTW OR MSP!!!! OR NW START SERVICES TO SVO!!!!

Somebody is excited!
Although I agree, it's great to see the code-shares in effect!

Quoting Jimyvr (Thread starter): AEROFLOT's SU code appears on Continental:
JFK - Toronto
JFK - Washington Dulles
JFK - Cleveland
Since when does CO serve any of these routes?
Leo.
A mile of runway takes you to the world. A mile of highway takes you a mile.

And it always goes out jam-packed (the ERJ from JFK-CLE), from what I hear anyway.
I'm really happy Aeroflot is finally codesharing - this is a lot better than having to interline, and is finally giving SU is a good competitive edge. Does DL fly JFK-ORD anymore? I think SU could put their code on that if they can.

Quoting Ahlfors (Reply 3): If you look at the official document again, it looks like it's Aeroflot's SU code flights are IAH/CLE to JFK/YYZ/IAD.
I didn't read the CO bid, but i did read the NW bid, which was filed before CO's so I don't know what will happen, but I'm sure Russia will let it happen since it makes SU more competitive and let's it grow into potential new markets. It will be interesting to see the SU flight number on NW boards in DTW.

Did they codeshare with OK on SVO-PRG, before Skyteam?

Quoting MOW (Reply 14): KL and SU have finally agreed to code-share on SVO-AMS route as of 01 NOV. This puts an end to a merely marginal presence of KL on Russian market.

We have a Russian consulate now in Houston, and I recall reading a note when Putin visited in 2001 that Aeroflot would fly here, but nothing further.

In an aeroflot press release, found on their website, they write about 40 years of service between the US and USSR/Russia. At the end of this press release, they announced that they are in skyteam and that have signed mutual agreements with Delta, Continental and Northwest. This just further proves their commitment to the US in the near future. If they got the three B767's they wanted, I wonder how they would use them?
