It seems so.
There was a press release by Lufthansa and the airport Duesseldorf.

Hmmmmm...... sounds strange but seems to be true since Lufthansa said this in an official press release.

Well, let me check the match schedule of the Bundesliga... Bochum is playing in Berlin and Dortmund is playing in Bremen ... Berlin and Bremen are too far away so it seems that a friend and me will be in DUS to watch the A380. Anyone else there?

Sounds good, long time ago that I had a Frappuccino! I'll talk with a friend tomorrow, usually he is playing with his band every Sunday but I think it is cancelled next weekend so it can be that we'll be there as well.

I'll know more on Wednesday.

Damn dude, you picked the wrong date to fly to the US of A, first you miss the A380 at DUS and then the Bochum vs. Frankfurt game.  Wink Anyway, have fun in Texas!

By the way, it can be that I am at Bochum Uni later today, I am waiting for a call from a friend. I'll definitely call you when I am nearby!

Ok, I just got a call and can confirm that we'll be there on Sunday, let's talk about the meeting point later this week. I don't think that we can make it as early as 11 AM but I think that we'll be there at noon or at the latest at 12:30 PM. The problem ist that we're invited to a party on Saturday night and that we have to drive from Soest to DUS on Sunday, but the ride should be no problem, I don't think that there are any traffic jams on a Sunday.

Cool, I can't wait to see the mega-fat A380 at my home airport!  cheerful

I am sure that I will also buy at least two large "somethings with a lot of caffeine" at Starbucks to wake up.  Silly

Damn, I just looked for the matchday schedule of the Regionalliga, too bad that the Duesseldorf-Pauli game is on Saturday, I had definitely watched it in the LTU Arena when it had been on Sunday since I am in DUS anyway.

Aircraft is rumored to be F-WXXL. Unfortunately my cheapest travel to DUS will be around 300 Euro, too much for just the A-380.

Have fun.

Why go to CLL LOL

Yeah, I live right on the German Dutch border kinda north of between Aachen and Maastricht.

I've been to DUS to pick folks up but don't know the airport too well (other than the damn speed cameras on the way...) where does one go to see the plane? Thanks for any info. I should be in Cologne for the 11th at 11 on Saturday and it will make a good weekend package. Booze, Woman, and Planes!!!

To visit fellow Aggies and see our team defeat Nebraska. I really hate the fact that I am not in DUS on Sunday though.

The observation decks in DUS are perfect, there is one on the roof of Terminal B and another on the long-distance train station.

We can meet at Starbucks and go together to the observation deck if you don't know how to get there.

You just have to buy a ticket either at the observation deck at the train station or at the main observation deck. I think it is 2.50Euros and you can use it for both observation decks the whole day long. It also allows you to use the sky train (if its working). However, nobody checks for tickets in the sky train anyway from my experience.

My timing sucks with the 380... I arrive at FRA on the 11th but will only be in DUS on the 14th, then it comes to JNB on the 27th or 28th and I am in CPT from 26-30!

After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

actually it just dawned on me. I will be in Cologne on Samstag the 11th for the big 11:11 carnival party. I will basically be toasty all through the day and evening. That will make Sunday tough but maybe. What is the timing you folks are looking for? 12:30 at the Starbucks or what?

Cool guys, I am looking forward to meet you!

I will be there for sure but until now I don't know what time it will be. Two friends will join me and they want to film the landing of the A380 at 11 AM (they are working on some film project for university). The problem is that one of them can't say yet if he can make it that early (depends on Deutsche Bahn timetable) to my friend's apartment in Soest where we want to meet and start from.

I will let you guys know as soon as I know more (tomorrow, on Friday, or at Saturday at the latest), then we can agree on a meeting point. Additionally we can exchange our mobile phone numbers by eMail, then we can call each other in case we don't find us in the crowd.
