Hello all -
I notice on the route map on the Qatar Airways web-site that they fly KUL-KTM. Do they still fly this route or any other routes out of KTM except to DOH?

Thanks!!

If I remember correctly, QR one flew DOH-KTM-KUL with A300, and at a certain point in time KUL was also connected to DAC, but neither of these combinations still exist. These days, all DOH KUL flights are operated nonstop, with some of those flights continuing to CGK.

If not mistaken, they also used A320 at an earlier stage on the DOH-KTM-KUL vv segment.

I thought so too, but I didn't dare to write it, but if you remember so as well, then it's most likely true.

You are not mistaken! They used to send A320's into the DOH-KTM-KUL segment with refuling off course! Not a comfortable trip in a narrowbody, though.

HB, is this still the case?

I thought that QR no longer operated the KUL-CGK extension, and that all CGK extension were from SIN?

Having a look at OAG, it seems the KUL extension was dropped a few weeks ago. The AB3's operate terminators to KUL only.

All DOH-CGK now via SIN, with A332.

**WT**S 1:00a DOH 3:25p CGK 2 QR 638 1-Stop 332 10:25
M**TF** 3:00a CGK 2 9:50a DOH QR 639 1-Stop 332 10:50

MT**FS* 1:00a DOH 3:25p CGK 2 QR 626 1-Stop 332 10:25
MT**FS* 11:15p CGK 2 6:00a+1 DOH QR 627 1-Stop 332 10:45

The flights that use to operate via KUL were:
11:20p DOH 2:10p+1 CGK 2 QR 620 1-Stop AB6 10:50
Discontinued after Oct 25

3:45a CGK 2 10:10a DOH QR 621 1-Stop AB6 10:25
Discontinued after Oct 27

You are right. I didn't even realize that has changed. I though their 3am departure from CGK - I wonder who is behind the scheduling of this ungodly departure time - was still operating through KUL, but it seems that all 7 weekly services now go through SIN. I also noticed that Cebu flights, which previously operated through SIN have now become nonstop, which I find even more surprising. I think QR is feeling the heat from EY here in Jakarta - EY is hugely successful here and has announced an expansion of 6 weekly to 12 weekly services to be completed in phases, although no new services have been loaded in the CRS as per yet.

I take it EY's flights are non-stop as ooposed to QR's via SIN.

Out of curiosity... how well did QR's A319LR flights go while operating at CGK.
IIRC, they operated it on a non-stop basis for a while..

If I'm not mistaken 4 QR DOH-KTM flights continue on to KUL. At last count DOH-KTM is almost double daily. I flew KTM-DOH-LHR last year and the KTM flight was a continuation of a flight from KUL.

QR operated mostly the A332 for the couple of months they came nonstop to CGK. I can't remember ever seeing the A319 here, although it is entirely possible that they operated the aircraft, as QR has a history here of operating at the strangest hours of the day. The nonstop A332 was probably not a huge success as the flight was quickly changed to make a stopover in SIN. Strangely enough, EY seems to be able to make the nonstops work, mostly with Indonesian laborers to and from the Middle East, but nevertheless with very high load factors.

You are right; but they discontinued the ongoing KUL flight from KTM. IT was operation until last year I think.

they operate their B773ER with the configuration 22J/350Y and these flights are almost full every day
