Here in Manchester UK there is a Santa Barbara 767-300 (TFFIB of Icelandair) sitting outside my office window (with Santa Barbara titles and a nice logo with Venezuela on the tail).
Unfortunately this is not a new Manchester-Caracas service, as much as I would love to use it!

Quoting Erikgnoha (Reply 3): Hey Luis this was discussed a couple of weeks ago.
Sorry Erik, I missed that thread.
Quoting UA868 (Reply 2): I hope they keep growing and one day become the Flagship Carrier of Venezuela. I am tired of VH and those MDs.!!
Indeed!
Quoting Embajador3 (Reply 1): can't wait to see those aircraft in S3 colours!!!
Me neither!

Hey Candid, do you think you can get a picture of TF-FIB? A mobile phone pic will work! I'm dying to see the 767s in S3 colors.
Quoting RAFVC10 (Reply 6): do you know something about the plans of S3 to acquire 313 equipment from Air Plus Comet?
RAFVC10, S3 used to wetlease A313 from APC for some weeks when their DC10s were grounded and while they were searching for the 767s. I don't think they have plans to acquire that aircraft type.
Saludos desde Caracas,
Luis
Viasa we miss you!. Good times will return after Chavez is gone!
Isn't this TF-FIB the wet-lease that S3 used some months ago along with TF-FIA? Because right now the wet-lease is with TF-LLA. Also, S3 wanted to get one of LAB airlines 767s that was stored in GIG but Mexicana got it first. Does anybody know why?

All those announcements were already made on FITUR 2006 in January in Madrid. And most of them were anounced to take place in summer 2006......
Seeing is beleiving ! But I hope all this happens !

Quoting Lamedianaranja (Reply 4): From a personal point of view, let's see if they become ZED carrier one day and we can non-rev on them. That would be great.
Happy A-net "B" day LaMedianaraja. On this day you were born here on A.net. Exacty two years ago - you are so young.

Okay, the big question about the Caracas - Funchal route: Is there enough demand for the two carriers (TAP being the other). TAP will also be flying the route the same exact days, so the question will lie on which airline offers the most affordable fares between Vnza and the Islands.
Second question: Why is Santa Barbara still wet-leasing its 763s from Icelandair, and why can't SB get its own equipment. At first, it was said that it had something to do with the carrier not having ETOPS certification and that eventually SB would get its own equipment, but after more than a year since SB stopped flying its own DC-10s, this has yet to happen.

Thx! Let's not think about that other b'day that's coming up! Only a few more and I'll have to change age groups...
Quoting 797 (Reply 16): Incredible livery! Perhaps inside the TOP 5 for me on a 763!
The tail is gorgeous and the yellow engines are funny too but the fuselage is just plain white, that's nothing special IMHO. It would probably be too expensive to change it completely. Even the Primaris silver body lookes better with the blue tail.

Nice livery. It's not that striking but nice. CCS-EZE on a 733? It seems like pushing the limits of the aircraft but according to the airliners.net database the 733 high gross weight (HGW) version has a range of 6300 km with 140 passengers. If S3 can get there hands on these HGW 733s than CCS-EZE is do-able:
CCS-EZE: 5106 km.
Other than that a fleet of two B763ER's, two B752s, three 733s and six ATR42s sounds about right for an airline that size of S3. Good luck to S3, I sure hope to see them one day, unfortunately I don't see S3 flying to CUR as Aeropostal, Avior Airlines and Rutaca Airlines (charter flights) all fly to CUR already. Even so, S3 does fly to AUA.
And Lamedianaranja, how does a bull terrier spent her day? Haha, I just saw your profile with the dog sleeping and turning, that's a good one, priceless in my opinion!!!

I think it has to do with the Luxury tax that is applied in Venezuela when you buy something really expensive. Actually, I do remember hearing about that some years ago...
Mr. Civilav would come great into this question!
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Saludos!

27 Jfk777: See their 757 at Miami all the time. SB has some flight at truly awful hours though. They have a Miami-CCS flight at 11:30pm arriving at 3:00AM in Car
28 Erikgnoha: I believe this was a delay because the normal flights departs during the morning and arrives CCS at 14:30. During high season a second flight is adde
29 Beech19: There is no such thing as a 757-200ER.
30 797: Hehe, well... they do call it like that on their site, and seems that they want to 'impress' people by adding the ER thing!
31 Civilav: Thank you for inviting me in ! Frankly, I do not know the reason why SB has not got its hands on its own 767s. After all, they are all second hand. W
32 797: Thanks again Mr Civilav! Well, as you say, S3 might not be able to buy one of those 763s. Now, in the hypotetical case that they go ahead and buy it,
33 Viasa: This aircraft would now go to a new operator in Africa.
34 Erikgnoha: So, is S3 going to have only one 767-300? Or are they going to receive another one besides TF-FIB?
35 Viasa: Untill today it was forbidden to say to which airline this aircraft would go. Now the first picture of the first GIA B767 you can see at Skyliner Avi
36 Erikgnoha: Thanks man. So, S3 is back to one 767 again?
37 TACAA320: It is ! He always find something wrong about liveries.
38 Luisde8cd: It's impossible to fly daily to MAD plus 1 weekly to both FNC and TFN with a single 763... I wonder where is the other 767.... Saludos desde Caracas,
39 Erikgnoha: Exactly, that's my question. Although, right now they are flying 4x weekly to MAD and 1 weekly to TFN. In December they will upgrade the MAD service
40 Chiguire: Don't forget that FNC and TFS would also work with the 757...."ER" or not.
