I'm going to these three during this month and looking for the best day to go for spotting (infrequent visitors, cargo traffic...). Won't be in HKG for the A380 though.
Local spotters and others, feel free to post your opinions.

BKK: All day long! But the new airport's so called viewing gallery is pretty much obscured by the building's design, not as fun as Don Muang.
HKT: Traffic is a little slow as you know, this is not a MAJOR international airport. Once in a while a heavy flies in from Australia (TG) and if you can get to the road that slopes upwards towards the control tower, you are in for some awesome spotting.

Oh yeah that's true... A lot of the BKK-HKT flights are an extension of an international flight of some sort so dont be surprised to see TG wide-bodies ALL DAY LONG.

Ah, that's definitely bad news.

I've tried to find information on this, but haven't managed. As I've heard, however, that place should be no longer accessible. If so, I might just stick with the beach. Don't mind at all.
I suppose the Russian charters haven't started their flights yet?

If you search the database for plane photos in HKT, some of the more dramatic shots have been taken from that hill i mentioned. Send an instand message to the photographer and find out more. Otherwise, yeah, the beach will do just fine. If the approaches are for Rwy 09, you can pretend you are in St Maarten or something. If it is the opposite, you might as well not waste your time because by the time the aircraft rotates and lifts off rwy 27, it will be quite high up by the time they are overhead you on the beach.
Just a little present for you from my previous flight out of HKT...
Cheers
Ryan

Nice reports! They remind me of my flights between SIN and CNX back in February this year. The service was... Well, what service?
The good thing was, that even with the free seating I could get the seat I wanted, at the window in the aft half of the plane. All the rest passengers seemed to prefer having a seat as front as possible.
