Hello guys,
almost every morning I can see an EL AL B737-800 arriving in Ciampino and departing after about an hour.
Reading on the Rome's airports timetable there aren't scheduled EL AL flights to Ciampino but only the flights on Fiumicino with B757 and B742.
Is that flight a regular charter a code share or something else?

Hey Stefano,
El Al doesnt fly to Ciampino on a scheduled basis, it doeas operate flights to Ciampino for the charter israeli airline, Sun Dor, owned by El Al.
By the winter schedules El Al will operate 2 daily flights to FCO, operated by 757/767 LY385/6, and 738 LY383/4.

Thank you Michael.
So that 738 is operated on behalf of Sun D'Or!
The new EL AL livery is so smart that I bought a Geminijets B747-400 with EL AL colours.
I'm sorry they won't use the B747 on Rome this winter, I often see it with the old livery flying over Ciampino on his way for FCO.

Dont be sorry so fast, you will see the 742 and the 744 (!) @ FCO this winter after all.
The most unscheduled thing at LY is the a/c use, for instance, LY 0385/6, TLV-FCO, can be operated in the same week both by 738/757/767/742 & 744, the airline always make a mixed use of all aircrafts to get the optimum load it can have.
BTW, if you will check LY scheduleds for some day @ March 2001 (for instance...), you'll find out that there are 12-15 morning 757 departures from TLV operated by EL AL, while LY have only 8 757 in operation!, that because eventually some of the 757 will change to 738 & 762 flights. hope you understood...... for further questions, just ask.... michael.
