Boeing is due to deliver its 600th 777 in December. It had delivered 591 777s thorough Oct. 31, 2006. They'll probably deliver 5 in November and probably 5 more in Dec.

So does anyone know which 777 type will be delivered and to whom?

I think its only appropriate thet Boeing deliver the 600th 777 to Singapore since they also took the 1000th 747, a 744 back in the late 1990's. The 1000th 744 was one of two painted in a special livery SIA has at the time, sadly one of those two was in the Taipei crash.

Actually, this is not true. The 1000th 744 was never painted as one of the tropical Megatops. It just had 1000th 747 written behind the cockpit. The two 744s that were painted in the Tropical Megatop scheme were: 9V-SPK (the one that crashed) and 9V-SPL (line numbers 1099 and 1101).

By my rough calculation, they might get the 1000th A330/A340 in 2009 or 2010, too.

Not to mention the 100th A350XWB in 2015.

9V-SWD has already been built and was pulled out of the paint hanger on Saturday morning. Its one of three (9V-SWA, -SWB, -SWD, there will be no -SWC) sitting on the flight line as we speak.

Don't you think that is a little far fetched?

Are they going to do anything special to mark the occasion, or are they not going to bother (since 600 is not as 'special' as 1000!)

True, but the interesting question will be: who will get the 777th 777?!

(I'm not sure if total sales have reached that, but it's only a matter of time!)

I can't imagine its going to be a big hub-a-baloo. Maybe if Singapore takes these three 773ER's at the same time. But 600 is a milestone, but not a big deal.

I beleive they will make a big deal out of that one. The 777th 777! woohoo!

There is 852 orders for 777's up thru October. That doesn't include the Fedex order.
