Ouch. The plane's on the taxiway, that reminds me of that  u rumor{/u} of the CO 752 that landed on a taxiway.

Any more info on the crash please post it, I'm a frequent traveler in and out of CAK.

N766UA...depends on what runway he landed on....one of the reports said he flipped which means he departed the runway....just could be where he ended up. I'll get more information tomorrow. Tail number is N202WB 1977 Mooney M20J.

The last update:

The 45 year old pilot's injuries are not life threatening.

The media is saying (NOT ME), that the pilot landed the left wheel on the grass and the other one on the runway!!!

Look at their website, they are on top of their game

Damn... I thought I felt the ground shake here, and I am in Lancaster PA!!! That had to have been a scary situation for the pilot and I also hope for a full recovery, although it is lifting that his injuries are not too serious  thumbsup

BTW, CO757, I saw your signature, read my username... and this...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Your team's going down man! Big grin

Sorry chap, had to throw that in for the heck of it. Besides, I despise Carolina and New England a little more than I do the Browns... anyway, enough of this NFL tangent and back to aviation quickly!  Smile

Back to aviation:

The pilot is recovering from his injuries at Akron General... i'm sure WOIO will have a follow up report about the incident!

Good - I was alarmed when I first read plane crash @ CAK - so I am glad that everything worked out, it was a small aircraft first off and that the pilot sounds like he will be ok.

...and to add to the football chat, go Browns. I am flying up on Friday from FLL on YX and have seats in the Pound. (although, it really isn't THE Pound, any Browns fan feels this way, right?)...and on a second side not, go Bucks!

Are you some kind of sicko? If he was in trouble, who gives a flying fig where the plane came down. Self preservation is one of the greatest assets we are born with. Certain people bleeding amaze me on this site. If YOU had been in that pilots 'situation' what would you have done? Gone for a circuit? I effing despair! When things like this happen it totally uffing amazes me how people can jump up and down because a pilot in trouble lands on a iffing taxiway.

BTW, eff, iff and uff are part of the English language. Just so nobody heads for the SD button.

With all due respect i don't believe this is how he meant the post. I believe he meant that at this point there are more questions than answers (like "HOW did he end up on the taxiway?"). Did he flip over for some reason and cartwheel onto it? Did he attempt to land on it? Did some runaway bread truck speed across the taxiway as he was taxiing?

Sounds to me like you're the one who is jumping to conclusions.

Notice the skid marks running perpendicular to the left of the engine. It looks like the plane slid into the taxiway at a 75 degree angle

Are you some kind of retard? I'm merely pointing out that since he's on a taxiway and in rather bad shape there's obviously more to it than "attempting to land," which implies a normal circumstance. Get a clue.

That's exactly what I meant. I'm not critiquing the pilot or trying to judge the situation or his handling of it, I'm just asking questions because the article sure doesn't give any answers.

I was going to say much the same thing but I decided to "take the high ground" and suggest deletion instead... So much for that idea.  Sad
