AirTran Offering Fares From MDW $19 For 48 Hours

Just got AirTran's weekly fare email. I have never seen them offering fares that low. Why so cheap? Maybe cause of B6 coming to ORD?

Ok killer settle down. I did not look into it to see where exactly the $19 fare was but none the less I have never seen a fare that low from FL. Overall it seems to be a pretty big sale.

OOO yippe! The $19 sale is a one way ticket from MDW to MSP. Probably trying to jump passenger counts for the thanksgivings travel time. Trying to steal passengers from UAL, AA and NWA.

Dang. I see they are offering $59 each way from IND to FLL. How can they come close to break even with those kind of fares?

Yeah, I don't understand...my IND-TPA tickets for next week are $200 cheaper than when I bought them in September...I called them up and got a credit for the fare difference. I can't believe fares would drop before Thanksgiving.

I found a similar email in my inbox this morning from NW. Only theirs was $49 o/w. I'm wondering if the airlines are finding excess inventory for the holidays as consumers aren't willing to pay the higher fares they are charging for the peak time frame. Also, most appear to be shorter hop flights too. My 2 cents.
