Armavia has launched once weekly EVN-Minsk flight. The flight is operated on A319/A320 aircraft.
It also will start flights to Tibilisi as well during this month.
"an agreement has been reached on organization of a flight to the USA. At present, negotiations are underway for opening of Yerevan-New York-Los Angeles or Yerevan-Amsterdam-Los Angeles flight."
The airline operates only narrowbody aircraft and they'll need a new type for this flight. An official had stated a few months ago that 767 and A330 were both being considered for the USA operations.
On another note, Air Arabia started it's 2x weekly Yerevan service on Novemebr 16.

Problem is that they will have no traffic rights between New York and LA. I think the Armenian community is much larger in Los Angeles than on the Eastern Coast so LA via AMS it would seem would be more likely.

I think they would want to make New York rather than AMS to promote that they fly to Yerevan both from LA and NYC. This means that N American passengers from cities east of LA can catch the same flight from NY. Don't need to go west and fly back east.
This is simply my amateurish assessment. Could be wrong.
