By this aircrafts says the sources that it would be the former US Airways N105UW, MSN 868

Airliners.net pictures says: MSN 868
Airlinerlist says: MSN 868
Airfleets says: MSN 868
ATDB.org says: MSN 2162 (!!!)
Planespotters.net says: MSN 868 and 2168 (very interessting...)

We report that RP-C3228 is MSN 2162, but we havent a MSN for RP-C3226 on our list (our lists are here: http://www.ch-aviation.ch/aircraft.php)

To this link is the N105UW still in use: http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinqu...=105UW&cmndfind.x=25&cmndfind.y=10 There are also new(er) pictures of N105UW (MSN 868) in the database:

So, MSN 868 is not in Asia... only we report that correct! (ATDB has a data embargo).

The question is still, which aircraft is:

  • RP-C3226
  • RP-C3228

Helps are welcome!

Photo #1100533 says RP-C3228 is cn 868, and it was taken July 16, 2006.
Photo # 0822044 says RP-C3228 is cn 868, and it was taken Apr. 9, 2005.
Photo #0767959 says RP-C3226 is cn 2162, and it was taken Jan. 22, 2005.

Photo #0865756 says N105UW is cn 868, and it was taken June 6, 2005.
Photo #0629606 says N105UW is cn 868, and it was taken July 7, 2004 and the caption points to the painted over title on the fuselage.

The linked photo of N105UW does not clearly indicate the date the picture was taken, but could possibly be the date the comment was given.

Given that Planespotters provided two serial numbers 868 and 2168, it could be the key as 868 was in Beijing in 2006. And as there are no later pictures of RP-C3226 (cn 2162), it might have gone back to the lessor or another carrier. So most likely a mixup in record keeping.

RPC 3226 is the same aircraft as RPC 3228.(MSN 2162) I understand that PR changed RPC3226 to RPC 3228 because of the numbers in the registration mark. In Chinese, 13 is not a good number.

3+2+2+6= 13.

PR is planning to change N751PR (reg mark for its first 744 aircraft) also but this will be done once the loan, which is guaranteed by US Eximbank ( thus the FAA registration), is fully paid.
