What is the status of the remaining 3 ex-DL's 767-300 for HA? Only one is in service, and my flight to Phoenix has been pushed back from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm due to shortage of planes. Any inputs, HALFA?

I'm sure part of the mess is resultant from the two SAN flights running late today as both aircraft diverted to LAX last night.

Both SAN-OGG and SAN-HNL flights are behind as the aircraft had to ferried down this morning.

Are the remaining ex-DL 767-300s in service with HA now?

There has been a delay in the FAA certifying/approving the new interiors HA installed in aircrafts 596-598. They are now scheduled to be delivered in the 3rd week of December.

The shortage of planes has resulted in many flights being rescheduled, usually within 1-3 hours of the original schedule, but a few flights have been pushed back by as much as 8 to 24 hours.

Awww so that's why my aunt's flight got delayed. She was on HA04 this morning.

Anyone with HA insider info, I'm going to LAS this Friday night on HA08 and havent' gotten a notice so far through email or phone. Does that flight look okay?

Happened both Sunday and Monday night, the cause was fog going below minimums for the runway 9 ILS. AQ was affected too, they went to ONT. Just called ATIS and so far things here at SAN look okay, they're currently doing visual approaches to 27.

The Reservations Department has been working very hard to contact all passengers affected by schedule changes, so if you haven't been contacted, you are likely unaffected. No News is Good News.

A correction to my earlier statement:

A/C 596 should (hopefully) be online by next week (not December). In the meantime, Hawaiian 767 flights will continue to be retimed in an attempt to accomodate all passengers as close to schedule as possible.

Met a buddy at a conference last month who's company was installing the new interiors. There was big problems with the design supplied from the company HA chose to do the refit plan and work came to a complete stop for a few weeks.

The delay is due to certification issues.
Once the mod began, it never "came to a complete stop".

Out of curiosity what is the interior mod like? Is it similar to your new builds (new bins etc) or just a replacement of seats and fabrics? Thanks

The interior modification is similar to the 777 style interior (Bins/Sidewalls, etc.)

The delay is being caused by the FAA certification process. They have not yet certified some components which actually came from Delta and are still flying around in Delta planes everyday (go figure, huh).

It includes Heath Tecna's Nu-Look interior components.

Hey LAHINA, was that on Tuesday night the 21st? If so, I was your FO on that flight. I'm in PHX now waiting for my return flight tomorrow morning. Just be glad you're not on my next trip here - I got a call from scheduling this morning telling me the flight that was supposed to depart Friday afternoon won't depart HNL until 4:15am Saturday morning.

That trip to PHX is scheduled to return to HNL on aircraft 596 Sunday morning, so if any of you spotters are interested in getting a photo of our newest ex-Delta plane, here's your advance notice. (subject to last-minute aircraft change, your mileage may vary, etc).

Are the overhead vins on the side drop downs--or do they have doors that flight up? Which Nu-Look interiors will these 4 planes have?
