Toronto Service? ---Jet Airways recently passed the US State Department's security clearance test which now opens the door for the carrier to fly directly to the U.S.A. The airline intends to operate to both New York and to San Francisco from the summer of 2007. The airline also has a permit to fly to Toronto via Hong Kong and also via Dusseldorf. Jet Airways is expected to start taking delivery of new Boeing 777-300ERs and Airbus A330-200s in the first quarter of 2007. This will give the carrier additional capacity as well as allow them to return three leased A340-300s to South African Airlines. The airline is expected to utilize their new A330-200s on a route from India via Dusseldorf to Toronto and use their new 777-300ERs on the proposed India-Hong Kong-Toronto route. No exact service dates have been mentioned as yet.

How will Jet Airways procure rights to this route with the kind of restrictive bilateral between Canada-Hong Kong. My understanding is that the bilateral allows for two Hong Kong based carriers to obtain rights to Canada.. hence why Oasis is interested in a Canada service.
