Gol is really becoming a major player on South American market.
Yesterday they just announce another major expansion on EZE market to begin on December 4th 2006.
Two new daily flights to Buenos Aires will be added to it's network (nowadays 3 GIG-GRU-EZE and 1 FLN-POA-EZE), another one begin in GRU (dedicated), and the first one GIG-EZE non-stop. The flight Rio-Buenos Aires probably during the weekend will probably include very soon a stop at Cabo Frio (closer to Buzios).
Buenos Aires seems to be THE destination of this summer (IATA winter) and the fight for this market become even stronger with a new player (Lan Argentina) and more services from AR, Tam and Gol.
During the night the plane will be used on a GRU-MCZ-AJU-GIG flight (another ship will fly GIG-AJU-MCZ-GRU) adding to G3 network one night flight GIG-AJU-GIG and one GRU-MCZ-GRU.
Varig also will announce more services to EZE very soon (REC-SSA-GIG-EZE probably will be resumed)

Tks, for the news, Lipe! Good to see the EZE-GIG nonstop market growing.

This flights will change and operations will be FLN-POA-EZE-SCL, linking the Argentinian and Chilean market to South Brazil. It also represents a further growth of GOL in Chile.

Felipe,
Any idea why it is taking so long for Varig to obtain the CHETA and officially become an airline.
Just seems to me that it is taking longer than it should. Thanks.

You're right Hardi, also 1 GIG-GRU-EZE will be extended to SCL, and 1 GIG-GRU-EZE will become CNF-GRU-EZE-SCL while Gol will run GIG-GRU-SCL.
Gol operations (departures) at EZE by the end of the year:

Mpdesa it's not interesting to Varig during some time to delivery the documents to ANAC and begin counting the time to run all the international network without a single aircraft commitment. AFAIK during this time Varig is trying to get aircrafts to run most of the flights up to 180 days after they get the CHETA (Airline Certification for whom may don't know) as per our rules. Now it's clear they can get some 767 from AC as well as other sources not informed (and still unclear).
As per ANAC comments, the CHETA will be released during the first 15 days of December.

GRU-EZE has grown substantially, amazing numbers! GOL never stops its expansion.
In additionm, GOL also got authorisation to run a selection of new domestic flights such as GRU-GIG-BEL, GRU-FOR (2 daily), GIG-REC-JPA, CGB-GRU, GRU-NAT (this is GOL 3rd daily on this route!!!), GIG-AJU-MCZ....
Although GRU is still GOL's international hub, GOL's domestic operations in GIG are growing very fast. GOL keeps 5 daily GIG-REC while TAM only runs one daily.
